Jack N. Semrani is an associate in the Business & Finance Department and a member of the Energy and Project Finance Group. Mr. Semrani advises energy public utilities regarding regulatory issues, corporate structures, energy transactions, information disclosure, ratemaking, tariff procedures, and compliance. He also assists utilities with various filings and actions before regulatory agencies as well as court actions and litigation. On occasion, he works on trademark issues reviewing trademark infringement reports and on real estate issues representing lenders in commercial mortgage transactions. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Semrani worked on real estate closings and title issues for six years at a Washington, DC real estate law firm.

Mr. Semrani has received two law degrees: a J.D. from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law (magna cum laude, 2005) and an LL.B. (1996) rooted in French law and the civil legal system from the Lebanese University in Beirut, Lebanon. While at The Catholic University of America, Mr. Semrani received the Certificate of the Comparative and International Law Institute, the Merit Award three times, and the Dean’s Award twice. He also served on The Contemporary Journal of Health Law and Policy and as inn president of The International Legal Fraternity Phi Delta Phi.

Mr. Semrani is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and is a native speaker of French and Arabic.
