Mr. Pearson is a partner in Jackson Walker's Business Transactions section and co-chairman of the firm's Energy Practice Group.

Mr. Pearson has a broad range of experience relating to gas marketing and transportation matters, including processing agreements, volumetric and reserve-based gas sale agreements, and electric power plant and other industrial fuel supply agreements; wholesale electric power sales and purchases; retail electric energy sales in the ERCOT region, energy futures and derivative transactions; and energy-related structured financing transactions, including pre-paid forward energy sale, volumetric production payment, and net profits interest transactions. He also has extensive experience relating to oil and gas exploration and development agreements such as farmout, operating, joint venture and participation agreements; day-to-day operational matters relating to private, state and federal leases, both onshore and offshore; taxable and tax-free sales and acquisitions of public and private energy company stock, assets, and properties, including producing properties, gathering systems, processing plants, and onshore and offshore drilling rigs; title examinations covering private, state and federal lands; coal seam methane production and financing matters; private, state, and federal royalty valuation matters.
