Telephone Mr. Leew is a partner in McMillan LLP, and member of the firm's Public Securities/Corporate Finance, Business Law, Banking & Debt Financing and Upstream and Midstream Energy Services practice areas. In addition to his extensive private practice experience, Mr. Leew was Vice-President, Legal and Corporate Secretary of Norcen Energy Resources Limited, and General Counsel with Husky Oil Ltd. in Calgary. He has a sound knowledge of the financial and operational fundamentals of a major exploration and production company and experience in widely-varied matters, including the negotiation of a unique agreement for the construction of a natural gas liquids extraction plant, analyzing, initiating and eventually settling through formal mediation a major dispute with a major California utility related to a complex 30-year gas transportation contract, and working with international ventures and agreements in Venezuela, Guatemala, Indonesia, Australia and the former Soviet Union. Notable projects of late have involved transportation agreements for the Mackenzie Valley Pipeline, off shore oil and gas joint ventures including the Sable Island Offshore Energy Project, natural gas from coal, Aboriginal rights, the duty of good faith in contract law, environmental liabilities, the enforcement of an operator's lien, and corporate oppression.
