Kimberly A. Klock is an associate in the Business & Finance Department and a member of the Investment Management Group, Securities Group, and Energy and Project Finance Group. Ms. Klock concentrates her practice on the representation of investment companies, investment advisers and fund fiduciaries in a variety of corporate, regulatory compliance and transactional matters. Ms. Klock is also involved in transactions relating to the development and financing of electric power assets.

 

Ms. Klock rejoined the firm in 2004 after serving as law clerk to the Honorable William H. Walls of the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey. Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, Ms. Klock worked as a business analyst and trade settlement administrator for an investment management company in New York.

Representative Investment Management Matters:

• Regularly prepared and reviewed board meeting materials, including memoranda, resolutions and minutes
• Drafted and reviewed board and audit committee self-evaluation questionnaires
•Attended board and committee meetings for multiple mutual fund clients
•Drafted and reviewed open-end fund registration statements, shareholder reports and other investment company regulatory filings
•Prepared and reviewed contracts and agreements between mutual funds and their service providers
•Counseled mutual funds on the creation of new series portfolios and share classes

Ms. Klock was named a “Pennsylvania Rising Star” lawyer by Philadelphia Magazine in its 2006 Super Lawyers Edition. Ms. Klock is a member of the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, and Philadelphia Bar Association.

Ms. Klock is a graduate of Swarthmore College (B.A. 1997) and Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law (J.D. 2002) where she served as editor-in-chief of the Temple International & Comparative Law Journal.
