Mark R. Gaylord is a partner in the Litigation Department and a member of the Construction Group, Energy and Project Finance Group, Environmental Group, and Labor, Employment & Immigration Group. He has represented clients in a diverse array of complex commercial matters including title, municipal planning and zoning, and land use and development disputes; creditor workouts; construction, securities, banking, environmental and insurance regulatory litigation; as well as employment matters involving trade secret and wrongful termination litigation for private and public sector employers.

 

Mr. Gaylord is the author of Secretary of the Interior v. California and “Federal ‘Consistency Provision’ of the Coastal Zone Management Act, Like It or Not?,” 7 J. Energy Law & Policy, 337 (1986). He serves on the Salt Lake County Bar Association’s Executive Committee. Mr. Gaylord is also a member of the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Utah State Bar Association, and Salt Lake County Bar Association as well as the Utah Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Gaylord is a graduate of Lewis and Clark College (B.S. 1982) and the University of Utah (J.D. 1987) where he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Contemporary Law.
